Forecast models from the National Weather Service and local outlets project a Denver high near 80–82°F on September 17 amid scattered afternoon thunderstorms and partly cloudy skies, with precipitation chances of 30–50%. This narrow range, combined with uncertainty over storm timing and cloud cover that can cap or briefly boost surface heating, explains the tight clustering of market-implied odds around the 78–83°F outcomes. Recent observations show the city tracking above normal for September, with the prior day reaching 83°F under similar warm, moist flow. Key variables for traders include the precise onset of convection and any revisions in afternoon model runs, which could shift the peak by a degree or two before official daily maximums are recorded.
