This market will resolve to "Yes" if there is a confirmed case of Ebola in the territory of the specified country reported between market creation and December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". Any active laboratory-confirmed, or otherwise officially confirmed, Ebola infection identified within the territory of the specified country will qualify, regardless of where exposure, symptom onset, or testing occurred. The primary resolution sources for this market will be official information from the relevant national and international health authorities; however, an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting will also suffice.Ongoing Ebola activity centers on the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where a Bundibugyo virus outbreak declared in May 2026 has expanded to seven provinces with thousands of confirmed cases and over 3,000 deaths reported by early September. Neighboring Uganda recorded limited cases early in the outbreak before declaring itself free in June, though isolated detections continue amid cross-border movement. The rapid spread, driven by insecurity, displacement, and gaps in contact tracing, has outpaced response efforts despite international aid scaling. Traders should monitor weekly case reports from DRC health authorities and any confirmed exports to additional nations, as new detections in previously unaffected countries would directly shift resolution probabilities before year-end.
