This market will resolve to the next individual who officially assumes the office of Prime Minister of Italy by December 31, 2028, 11:59 PM ET. To count for resolution, the individual must be officially appointed and sworn in as Prime Minister of Italy. Any interim or caretaker Prime Minister will not count toward the resolution of this market. If no such Prime Minister takes office by December 31, 2028, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to “Other”. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the Government of Italy; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Giorgia Meloni holds the leading position in the market due to her centre-right coalition’s record of governmental stability, which reached a postwar high of 1,413 consecutive days in early September 2026, alongside achievements in employment growth and fiscal management ahead of the next general election due by December 2027. Traders price her as the frontrunner because her Brothers of Italy party remains the largest single force in polls, even as support for the broader coalition has narrowed. Elly Schlein and Giuseppe Conte trail as the main centre-left alternatives, reflecting ongoing efforts by the Democratic Party, Five Star Movement and allies to build a unified “campo largo” opposition through recent joint events and program discussions. Roberto Vannacci’s rapid rise with his new far-right party has further fragmented the right, capping his own odds while pressuring Meloni’s coalition ahead of potential early voting.
