D'Andre Swift enters the 2026 NFL season as the lead running back for the Chicago Bears in Ben Johnson's outside-zone scheme, coming off a career-high nine rushing touchdowns and 1,087 yards in 2025. He has cleared the injury report after a minor preseason cramp and is expected to handle the majority of early-down and passing-down work ahead of Kyle Monangai, though the backfield remains a committee with Monangai seeing red-zone and closing opportunities. The Bears' revamped offensive line and projected top-tier offense should create favorable scoring chances, but Swift's final contract year and durability history introduce uncertainty around workload consistency across 17 games. Recent form and coach praise position him for strong volume, tempered by the shared touches that historically limit individual touchdown totals in similar Bears setups.
