Ukraine’s civil airspace has remained closed to commercial operations since February 2022 amid the ongoing conflict, with Boryspil Airport maintained in a state of technical readiness through infrastructure upkeep and staff training yet barred from regular flights by security risks and regulatory restrictions. Recent Russian strikes in early September 2026 targeted runways at Boryspil and nearby Zhuliany, explicitly linked by Ukrainian officials to discussions of foreign delegation aircraft, underscoring persistent threats to any resumption. President Zelenskyy noted on 8 September that the facilities are prepared for limited use if Russia grants a security corridor, while government working groups continue phased-reopening planning focused first on technical and humanitarian flights. Trader sentiment reflects these security constraints and the absence of confirmed de-escalation steps that would enable even isolated landings or takeoffs before any specified market deadline.

This market will resolve to "Yes" if at least one manned aircraft successfully lands at or takes off from Boryspil International Airport between market creation and the specified date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No".
Eligible flights include any manned fixed-wing aircraft or rotorcraft (helicopter), regardless of registration, owner, or purpose (e.g., commercial passenger, cargo, military transport, diplomatic or state flight, technical ferry, or emergency landing).
Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs, drones, or loitering munitions), touch-and-go passes without a full touchdown and stop or taxi, and landings or departures occurring outside the physical boundaries of Boryspil International Airport will not count toward the resolution of this market.
The primary resolution source will be verified radar and ADS-B flight tracking data (e.g., Flightradar24, ADS-B Exchange) and official announcements from Boryspil International Airport, the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine, or the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine; however, a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.
