Recent polling ahead of Berlin’s September 20 Abgeordnetenhaus election shows Die Linke at 21–23 percent and the SPD at 10–12 percent, a gap that has widened since the 2023 repeat vote. Die Linke’s rise under lead candidate Elif Eralp centers on housing affordability and rent controls, while the SPD has lost ground in multiple surveys from Infratest dimap, Forschungsgruppe Wahlen, and others. With the election one week away and no major intervening events narrowing the divide, traders view Die Linke as the clear favorite to finish ahead of the SPD on vote share.
