Chen Chen-chung, the Kuomintang nominee and former Huxi Township head, leads the Penghu County Magistrate market at 77% amid a November 28, 2026, election. The KMT consolidated its base after nominating him without primary controversy, while the Democratic Progressive Party shifted to Wu Shu-chin, wife of incapacitated incumbent Chen Kuang-fu, following his early 2026 fall and ongoing health issues that ended his reelection bid. This substitution, combined with Penghu’s historical pan-blue leanings and the 2022 DPP victory stemming from a split opposition vote, has boosted trader consensus on Chen. Independent candidacies by Yeh Chu-lin and others at lower prices introduce potential vote fragmentation risks, though recent campaign headquarters launches and stable polling gaps have kept Chen’s implied probability elevated ahead of the vote count.
