A strengthening cold front and associated low-pressure system moving across western Washington Thursday night into Friday are the dominant drivers suppressing Seattle's maximum temperature on September 25, with National Weather Service guidance and ensemble models indicating widespread rain, gusty southerly winds, and possible afternoon thunderstorms that limit insolation and advect cooler maritime air. Forecast highs cluster in the upper 50s to low 60s°F, consistent with the market's heavy weighting toward 58–61°F bins at 68.5% combined implied probability. Cloud cover, precipitation totals of 0.5–1 inch in lowlands, and post-frontal stabilization further cap diurnal warming relative to September climatology near 68–70°F. Updated model runs overnight and Friday morning NHC/NOAA briefings on frontal timing and instability will provide the next key data points for traders.
