Official forecasts from the National Weather Service and ensemble guidance place Houston’s September 26 high in the low 90s, with 91–92 °F most frequently cited. A weakening ridge and northeast flow are introducing modestly lower dew points and increasing afternoon cloud cover, which limits peak solar heating compared with the mid- and upper-90s readings earlier in the week. Model spreads arise mainly from the timing and coverage of any scattered showers or thunderstorms, whose development could shave a degree or two off the maximum or allow brief clearing that pushes readings slightly higher. Historical late-September climatology for Houston centers near 88–90 °F, so current conditions sit modestly above average while remaining well below record territory. Updated model runs and the 12Z NWS forecast discussion on the 25th will be the next key inputs for traders.
