The Berlin state election held on September 20, 2026, produced clear preliminary results showing Bündnis 90/Die Grünen ahead of the SPD in vote share. Grüne captured 14.3 percent while the SPD received 12.1 percent, reflecting sustained polling trends from the preceding weeks in which the Greens maintained a consistent edge over the Social Democrats amid broader shifts favoring Die Linke and the CDU. With vote counting largely complete and the gap exceeding typical margins of error or remaining ballots, trader consensus has aligned at near-certainty for Grüne. Final certification or minor adjustments to overseas and postal votes remain the only realistic variables that could alter the relative ordering, though historical patterns indicate such changes rarely exceed a few tenths of a percentage point.
