The September 20, 2026 Berlin state election produced final results showing the CDU ahead of the AfD in second-round vote share, with the CDU at 18.8 percent and the AfD at 16.3 percent. Pre-election polling had placed the two parties in a narrow race behind Die Linke, and the CDU's incumbency advantages plus stronger urban moderate support preserved its edge despite overall losses for the governing coalition. Trader consensus at 100 percent reflects the completed count and the roughly 2.5-point margin, which exceeds typical recount thresholds. Remaining uncertainty centers on any final certification adjustments or legal challenges, though none have been reported and the gap makes reversal improbable.
