Kris Mayes holds a strong position as the Democratic incumbent seeking a second term in the November 3, 2026, Arizona attorney general election, reflected in traders assigning her a 77.5% implied probability. She advanced unopposed through the July Democratic primary, while Republican nominee Warren Petersen secured his party's nomination with 56.4% in a contested primary against Rodney Glassman. Recent developments include a late August poll showing Mayes ahead 44% to 38% among likely voters and a September cross-party endorsement from outgoing Democratic state Representative Lydia Hernandez for Petersen. Sabato's Crystal Ball rates the race Lean Democratic, consistent with the market's assessment of Mayes' advantages in a contest focused on issues such as immigration enforcement, election administration, and prosecutorial priorities.
