**Nominations for the 60th CMA Awards, announced September 10, have set the field for Musician of the Year, with traders assigning Charlie Worsham the narrowest edge at 33% implied probability ahead of Paul Franklin at 28.5%.** The five nominees—Worsham and Rob McNelley on guitar, Franklin on steel guitar, Jenee Fleenor on fiddle, and Tom Bukovac on guitar—reflect heavy session work on 2025–2026 top-charting releases, including Bukovac’s prominent licks on Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas.” Voting is restricted to CMA’s musician, producer, and artist members, who weigh consistent studio credits, chart impact, and peer respect over public profile. Franklin’s 2025 win after decades of nominations and Worsham’s 2024 victory create a recency dynamic, while Fleenor’s prior three-year streak and the guitar specialists’ broad album contributions keep the race tight. With the ceremony set for November 18, late campaign momentum and specific hit associations remain the main swing factors.
