The absence of a clear second-tier favorite behind PSG’s expected title defense has produced a tightly bunched market for Ligue 1 runner-up, with Lille, Brest, Toulouse, Troyes and Lens separated by just 2.5 percentage points. Early 2026-27 results underscore the parity: Monaco leads after three wins, while Lyon, Paris FC, Lille and Rennes sit level on seven points, and PSG has managed only two from three matches. Summer managerial shifts at Lille (Davide Ancelotti), Marseille (Bruno Génésio) and elsewhere, combined with squad turnover among clubs returning from Europe or chasing UCL spots, have left form and depth hard to separate. Pre-season models projected Lens and Lille as the strongest challengers for second, yet the current spread of results keeps implied probabilities clustered as traders weigh fixture difficulty and injury risks across a wide group.

If at any point it becomes impossible for a listed participant to finish as runner-up of Ligue 1 for the 2026-27 season per the rules of Ligue 1 (e.g., the participant is eliminated), the corresponding market will resolve to "No".
If multiple teams are declared as second-place finishers, this market will resolve in favor of the team whose listed name comes first alphabetically.
If this event is cancelled, postponed after July 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or a runner-up has not been declared within this timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other".
The resolution source will be official information from the Ligue 1; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
