The tight clustering of implied probabilities around 37-38% for the NWSL 2026 runner-up reflects the league's current parity midway through the regular season. Gotham FC holds the top spot at 45 points after 23 matches, but Washington Spirit sits just two points back with superior goal difference, while North Carolina Courage, Utah Royals, and San Diego Wave FC remain within striking distance at 39 points apiece. Recent results, including upsets and red cards affecting San Diego and Portland's strong home form, have kept the middle of the table fluid. Expansion sides like Denver Summit FC and Boston Legacy FC add further depth, preventing any single contender from pulling away in the race for second.
