The Sonora gubernatorial contest for 2027 shows a tight trader consensus around leading contenders, driven by Morena's ongoing internal selection process and competitive opposition positioning. Recent surveys from mid-2026 indicate Lorenia Valles Sampedro holding an edge in Morena preferences and general election matchups, though she remains close to figures like Javier Lamarque Cano and Célida López Cárdenas amid party unity pledges and territorial tours. Luis Donaldo Colosio Riojas and other potential challengers register notable support in head-to-head scenarios, reflecting Morena's strong statewide identification near 40-50% alongside opposition from PAN and PRI-aligned candidates. Further separation could emerge from the completion of Morena's internal surveys, formal nominee announcements, or shifts in approval trends for the incumbent administration before the June 2027 vote.
