The official National Weather Service climate summary recorded a maximum temperature of 89°F at Atlanta’s primary station on September 20, 2026, locking in the 88-89°F outcome at 100% market-implied probability. This measurement, taken under mostly sunny skies with light easterly flow and minimal precipitation, aligned with late-summer warmth persisting above the 1991-2020 normal high of 83°F. Forecasters had projected a peak near 91°F earlier in the day, yet actual conditions produced a reading squarely in the resolved bin. Minor model spread around afternoon mixing and any brief cloud cover represented the only realistic pathways to a different outcome, though none materialized in the verified data.
