Incumbent Bryan Steil holds a clear edge in the Wisconsin 1st Congressional District race, consistent with the district’s R+2 Partisan Voter Index and his established fundraising advantage heading into the November 3 general election. Mitchell Berman, the Democratic nominee and emergency room nurse who won his August primary, received a boost when the DCCC added him to its Red to Blue program in mid-September, directing additional resources to the challenger in this southeast Wisconsin seat covering Kenosha, Racine, and Janesville areas. Recent polling has shown the contest tightening at times, reflecting the district’s modest Republican baseline and union-influenced electorate, though Steil’s incumbency and prior comfortable margins continue to underpin trader positioning. National attention has increased with both parties signaling activity in the final weeks.
