Incumbent Republican Nick Begich III advanced from Alaska’s August 2026 top-four primary with roughly 45% support and now faces independent Bill Hill, Democrat Eric Hafner, and a Libertarian in the November 3 general election under ranked-choice voting. Recent polls, including September surveys, show Begich consolidating Republican and moderate support to lead Hill by double digits in final rounds, reflecting the district’s Republican tilt and limited Democratic field after stronger challengers withdrew. Trader consensus at 85% for the Republican Party aligns with these results and historical patterns in the at-large seat, while the low Democratic share tracks the absence of competitive opposition. Scheduled debates and any late shifts in independent or crossover preferences remain the main variables before ballots are counted.
