**Bank of Israel traders price a hold at the October 21 decision as the dominant outcome because inflation has stabilized near or below the 1–3% target midpoint while the committee has already delivered multiple 25-basis-point cuts this year.** The September 1 reduction brought the policy rate to 3.25%, supported by subdued price pressures, shekel stability, and moderated energy costs after earlier geopolitical easing. Recent CPI prints around 1.5% and one-year expectations anchored near the target center give the Monetary Committee room to pause and assess incoming data, including the September CPI release on October 15. Upward inflation risks from housing, potential defense spending, and lingering geopolitical uncertainty reinforce the case against further immediate easing. A cut remains possible only if fresh readings confirm continued disinflation and currency strength, while a hike is viewed as remote given the current inflation environment and real-rate levels. The decision falls just before national elections, though the bank has emphasized data dependence over political timing.
