Recent polling from Pew Research and others shows Democratic candidates holding modest edges or near parity among voters 50 and older overall, with larger advantages among women in this age group amid a widening gender gap. Concerns over Medicare, Social Security, prescription costs, and economic security have featured prominently in AARP surveys of older women, a high-turnout bloc whose preferences have shifted toward Democrats in several 2026 battleground samples. Broader generic ballot data indicate women overall favor Democratic House candidates by double digits, a pattern extending into senior cohorts despite traditional Republican strength among older voters. These developments underpin the current trader consensus on the outcome.
