Elon Musk’s recent comments at the All-In Summit on September 15 have revived speculation around a potential Tesla-SpaceX combination, highlighting deepening operational ties in AI, semiconductor manufacturing via the joint Terafab project, energy storage, and satellite connectivity. SpaceX’s June 2026 IPO and earlier acquisition of xAI have made valuation comparisons easier and fueled analyst forecasts of an 80% likelihood by 2027, while prediction markets price roughly 66% odds for an announcement by year-end 2027. Tesla holds a small equity stake in SpaceX and the companies already exchange products like Megapacks and Cybertrucks. Musk has stressed any deal would require formal board processes and corporate approvals, leaving near-term resolution unlikely without new catalysts such as earnings calls or regulatory filings.

An announcement by Tesla or SpaceX within this market's timeframe will qualify for a "Yes" resolution, regardless of whether or when the announced acquisition/merger actually occurs.
Announcements of partial sales may count, as long as the acquiring company acquires a controlling interest in the other company. A “controlling interest” refers to a change in ownership sufficient to control the company’s strategic decisions (typically more than 50% of equity, or equivalent control via voting and governance rights). Transactions or investments that do not result in a transfer of controlling interest will not count.
The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from Tesla or SpaceX; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
