Nasim Nuñez holds a commanding position in the MLB stolen bases race due to his league-leading total of 46 swipes through early September, creating a sizable gap over pursuers. The Washington Nationals infielder has maintained steady playing time and aggressive base-running volume, outpacing Chandler Simpson, Jazz Chisholm Jr., and Bobby Witt Jr., who sit in the low-to-mid 30s to low 40s. Recent form shows Nuñez continuing to add steals at a consistent clip while most challengers face tighter defensive attention or fewer opportunities in the final weeks. Trader consensus prices reflect this established margin, with limited realistic paths for catch-up absent unusual volume or Nuñez setbacks.
