The 2026-27 J2 League runner-up market reflects deep parity across roughly 20 clubs after the opening five rounds, with no team establishing clear separation in a 20-team field featuring three J1 relegations (Yokohama FC, Shonan Bellmare, Albirex Niigata) and three J3 promotions (Tochigi City, Vanraure Hachinohe, Tegevajaro Miyazaki). Early results show multiple sides posting strong attacking outputs and defensive organization, including Omiya Ardija’s unbeaten start and consistent scoring from Yokohama FC, Vegalta Sendai, and Fujieda MYFC. Pre-season expectations around squad depth, managerial continuity, and historical J2 promotion experience have not yet produced a dominant contender, leaving implied probabilities tightly bunched as the long campaign begins.

If at any point it becomes impossible for a listed participant to finish as runner-up of J2 League for the 2026-27 season per the rules of J2 League (e.g., the participant is eliminated), the corresponding market will resolve to "No".
If multiple teams are declared as second-place finishers, this market will resolve in favor of the team whose listed name comes first alphabetically.
If this event is cancelled, postponed after July 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or a runner-up has not been declared within this timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other".
The resolution source will be official information from the J2 League; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
