Bilateral tensions between India and Pakistan remain shaped by the May 2025 crisis, when India conducted missile and air strikes under Operation Sindoor following a major terrorist attack in Pahalgam, prompting Pakistani counterstrikes and a U.S.-brokered ceasefire on May 10. That ceasefire has held with limited violations along the Line of Control, though both nations have continued military modernization, including missile tests and command restructuring. In June 2026, Pakistan's airstrikes in Afghanistan drew sharp Indian condemnation as a regional destabilizer, but produced no direct bilateral escalation. Traders assessing near-term Indian strikes focus on the absence of fresh cross-border terrorist incidents or major provocations since the 2025 conflict, alongside diplomatic channels that helped contain prior clashes. Scheduled diplomatic engagements or new security incidents within the resolution window could still shift sentiment.

For the purposes of this market, a qualifying "strike" is defined as the use of aerial bombs, drones, or missiles (including cruise or ballistic missiles) launched by Indian military forces that impact Pakistani territory (e.g., if an Indian missile or drone hits a target within Pakistan’s borders, this market will resolve to "Yes").
Missiles or drones that are intercepted before reaching Pakistani territory, as well as surface-to-air missile strikes, will not be sufficient for a "Yes" resolution regardless of whether debris lands on Pakistani soil or causes damage.
Actions such as artillery fire, small arms fire, FPV or ATGM strikes, ground incursions, naval shelling, cyberattacks, or any operation conducted by Indian ground forces will not qualify as a strike under this market.
The resolution source will be a consensus of credible reporting.
