Real Madrid lead the runner-up market at 54.5% implied probability as the clearest challenger to Barcelona, who sit atop early 2026-27 La Liga standings after an unbeaten start featuring high goal tallies from Raphinha, Lamine Yamal, and new additions including Rodri. Barcelona’s retained core under Hansi Flick, bolstered by summer signings such as Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi, has sustained their three-year title dominance and eight-point margin from 2025-26. Real Madrid’s Mourinho-led rebuild, incorporating Yan Diomande and defensive reinforcements, positions them for consistent second place in simulations and current form, though integration challenges and recent results keep their title odds lower. Mid-table sides like Atlético Madrid, Real Betis, Villarreal, and Celta Vigo trail significantly in projected points and top-two probability, reflecting the established two-team hierarchy and limited realistic paths to runner-up contention.

If at any point it becomes impossible for a listed participant to finish as runner-up of LaLiga for the 2026-27 season per the rules of LaLiga (e.g., the participant is eliminated), the corresponding market will resolve to "No".
If multiple teams are declared as second-place finishers, this market will resolve in favor of the team whose listed name comes first alphabetically.
If this event is cancelled, postponed after July 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or a runner-up has not been declared within this timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other".
The resolution source will be official information from the LaLiga; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
