Ed Ruscha’s “Cities Across the Globe” heads to Sotheby’s Contemporary Curated sale on October 7, 2026, with a $500,000–$700,000 estimate that anchors trader expectations for the final hammer price. Recent results show sustained demand for the artist’s works on paper and prints, with multiple 2025–2026 lots exceeding estimates amid a selective contemporary market. Ruscha’s broader auction strength—highlighted by the $68.3 million record for a 1964 painting in late 2024—supports premium pricing for high-quality pieces, though lower estimates for editions and works on paper reflect typical price segmentation. The upcoming sale timing, combined with ongoing collector interest in his Pop-inflected output, drives the current market-implied odds around the 60–90 percent thresholds.
