Sánchez has rejected both steps and signaled intent to complete the term, while the opposition has refrained from filing an actual no-confidence motion due to insufficient votes for an absolute majority. Recent polling shows PP and Vox approaching or exceeding 210 seats in potential future elections, heightening coalition fragility with regional parties like Junts and ERC. Budget negotiations and any late-2026 legislative tests remain key near-term catalysts, though current arithmetic favors stability absent major shifts in alliances.
