**Recent announcement of a US-Denmark-Greenland security agreement has centered trader attention on whether its full text will be released publicly soon.** On September 18, 2026, President Trump announced via social media that the parties had reached an accord granting the United States permanent security control, expanded basing and overflight rights, and veto authority over non-NATO military presence or sensitive investments by adversaries, while imposing no direct cost to the US and preserving Greenland’s self-determination options. Danish and Greenlandic leaders confirmed the framework the same day but emphasized that it respects Danish sovereignty and territorial integrity, with no land transfer. They indicated the agreement would be formally signed during the UN General Assembly in New York the following week and would enter into force after required parliamentary procedures. As of September 19–20, no official text or draft has been published; descriptions remain limited to verbal summaries from officials and Trump’s post. Key variables for market resolution include the timing of any formal signing ceremony, the pace of document finalization and translation, and whether the three governments opt for immediate public release or phased disclosure amid ongoing diplomatic sensitivities. Historical precedents for similar defense pacts show variable transparency timelines, often tied to legislative review or alliance coordination. No major new developments have superseded the September 18 announcement in the past 30 days.
