Rep. Jim Jordan’s September 9 announcement that he will step down as House Judiciary Committee chairman after this Congress—declining a term-limit waiver and ruling out a return to Oversight—has intensified speculation about a leadership bid. At the Republican midterm convention in Texas days later, the move fueled open discussion of Jordan positioning himself for Speaker or minority leader roles depending on November results, especially if Republicans lose their narrow majority and Mike Johnson faces pressure to step aside. Jordan has avoided direct confirmation while emphasizing his focus on retaining the House, yet allies have highlighted his fundraising for colleagues and past Speaker runs as signs of broader ambitions. These developments, combined with his history of seeking top GOP posts, underpin traders’ 71.5% implied probability that he will enter the race.
Eksperimental na AI-generated summary na nire-reference ang Polymarket data. Hindi ito trading advice at wala itong papel sa kung paano nire-resolve ang market na ito. · Na-updateWill Jim Jordan run for Republican House Leader?
For purposes of this market, a person will run to be the "highest-ranking Republican" if they are running for either Speaker of the House or, if that is not applicable, the top leader of the House Republican Conference (usually the Minority Leader).
A qualifying announcement must be explicit and unambiguous. Conditional statements, statements that are clearly sarcastic, made in jest, or immediately clarified as not being genuine, and third-party speculation or reports that Jim Jordan may run absent an announcement by him, will not count.
Once a qualifying announcement has been made within the market's time frame, this market will resolve to "Yes" regardless of whether Jim Jordan subsequently withdraws, loses, or the position is filled by another person.
If Jim Jordan does not make a qualifying announcement on or before the date the House Republican Conference elects its top leader for the Congress convening in January 2027 (or, if that election has not occurred, by January 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET), this market will resolve to "No".
The primary resolution source will be official statements by Jim Jordan (e.g., via speech or a post from a verified social media account); a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
