Saudi Aramco is targeting a partial restart of roughly half the East-West pipeline’s capacity within days by bypassing damaged pumping stations hit in Sept. 10 drone attacks from Iraq-based militias, with full restoration to its 7 million bpd nameplate expected in about six weeks. The line had been moving 4-5 million bpd of crude to the Red Sea port of Yanbu as the primary workaround to the largely closed Strait of Hormuz amid ongoing regional conflict. Earlier repair estimates ranged from days to five-to-six weeks, and U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright stated flows should resume imminently. The outage has supported Brent prices near $106 per barrel while pressuring European refiners to source alternative cargoes, highlighting the pipeline’s role in sustaining Saudi export volumes equivalent to 4-5% of global supply.

This market will resolve to “Yes” if the government of Saudi Arabia announces that the East-West oil pipeline is operational or no longer shut down between market creation and the specified date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”.
A qualifying announcement must express that the pipeline is presently operating; operation at partial or reduced capacity qualifies.
Announcements that attribute such a claim to third parties, state that the pipeline will or may operate in the future, describe work underway to restore operation, or frame resumption as expected, planned, or conditional, will not qualify.
Once a qualifying announcement is made, this market will resolve to “Yes,” regardless of any subsequent contradictory statements, or alternative information from other sources.
The resolution source for this market will be official information from the government of Saudi Arabia.
