This market will resolve to according to the candidate who wins the 2026 California lieutenant gubernatorial election currently scheduled for November 3, 2026. If the results of the election are not confirmed by July 31, 2027, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source for this market is the Associated Press, Fox News, and NBC. This market will resolve once all three sources call the race for the same candidate. If all three sources haven’t called the race in this state for the same candidate, this market will resolve based on official certification.Fiona Ma advanced from California's June 2, 2026 top-two primary as the leading Democratic candidate with 19.1% of the vote, ahead of Republican Gloria Romero at 17.8% and other Democrats including Josh Fryday and Michael Tubbs. In the heavily Democratic state, Ma consolidated support through endorsements from labor unions, constitutional officers, and a majority of the legislature, leveraging her record as state treasurer. Romero, a former Democratic Senate majority leader who switched parties in 2024, advanced as the Republican nominee but faces structural disadvantages in a general election where Democratic candidates routinely secure wide margins. Trader consensus at 94.5% for Ma reflects this partisan baseline and Ma's primary strength, though late developments such as turnout shifts or unforeseen events could still affect the November 3 outcome.
