Official observations from Austin-area stations, including Bergstrom International Airport, recorded an overnight low of 74–75°F on September 17 under persistent warm, humid conditions with light southeast winds and minimal cloud cover. This aligns with National Weather Service summaries noting minimums near 77–80°F amid unseasonable September heat, well above the 1991–2020 average low of about 67°F, as high pressure suppressed cooler air advection. Trader consensus reflects verified station data and model agreement on minimal overnight cooling. A realistic challenge would require post-event data revisions from primary stations or discrepancies in official reporting thresholds, though such adjustments are rare for temperature records.
