Lin Kuo-chang, the Democratic Progressive Party nominee, holds the strongest trader consensus in the Yilan County magistrate race at 68.5 percent implied probability, ahead of Kuomintang candidate Wu Tsung-hsien at 24 percent, Taiwan People's Party contender Chen Wan-hui at 4.2 percent, and several independents including Chang Sheng-te at 1 percent. Recent developments include KMT-TPP coordination that selected Wu over Chen following joint polling, ongoing DPP internal factional tensions with multiple local candidates registering independently, and opposition criticism of Lin’s prior state-owned enterprise board roles. These dynamics, combined with the November 28 voting date and standard local election turnout patterns, underpin the current pricing as traders weigh party machinery, coalition signals, and candidate positioning in a contest where the DPP has held the seat in recent cycles.
