The NFL single-season passing yards record stands at 5,477, set by Peyton Manning in 2013, with only a handful of seasons ever reaching 5,000 yards amid 17-game schedules and evolving offensive schemes. For the 2026 season, consensus projections place top passers such as Joe Burrow, Dak Prescott, Jared Goff, and Justin Herbert in the 3,900–4,200 range, reflecting typical volume, defensive adjustments, and injury risks that cap even elite quarterbacks. Recent form and roster stability for high-volume offenses have not produced the sustained output needed to challenge the mark, while historical patterns show such outliers remain exceptional rather than expected. Trader consensus at 90.5% for “No” aligns with these barriers, though an injury-free campaign from a pass-heavy unit could still shift dynamics.
