Alison Jarman holds the leading position in trader pricing for the Devonport mayoral race ahead of Tasmania's October 27 local government elections, reflecting her incumbency and recent council actions on infrastructure, rates, and childcare expansion. Steve Martin trails as the main challenger, drawing on his prior mayoral term and current councillor role, though his lower implied probability signals limited momentum in recent reporting. The broad field of additional candidates, many priced near even money, underscores the fragmented nature of local contests where personal profiles, community ties, and preference flows often decide outcomes rather than party alignment. No major late shifts in polling aggregates or endorsements have emerged to widen the gap, leaving the contest sensitive to voter turnout in key precincts and any final-week campaign developments on growth projects or service delivery.
