Recent streaming data shows a tight race for the #2 global or U.S. Spotify spot heading into the week ending September 25, with catalog tracks and recent releases trading momentum through TikTok virality and steady daily gains. Malcolm Todd’s “Earrings,” two years post-release, continues climbing on short-form video trends and recent chart peaks, while Katy Perry’s 2011 hit “The One That Got Away” benefits from its designation as TikTok’s Song of the Summer and sustained playlist placement. Newer entries like KAROL G’s “BbY WOW” with Judeline and rusowsky post strong upward trajectories from Latin crossover appeal, and tracks such as ADÉLA’s “Ain’t in LA” and “Nicole Kidman” plus Miley Cyrus’s “Bass Persuades” add pressure via targeted promotion and streaming spikes. Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj’s “Beauty and a Beat” lingers as a nostalgic contender amid fluctuating competition, leaving resolution dependent on final weekly aggregates and any late viral surges.
