Early in the 2027 Oscars cycle, the Best Documentary Feature market shows no dominant frontrunner, with trader consensus spreading probability across dozens of titles and "Other" at 50%. Specific contenders like Once Upon a Time in Harlem hold the highest implied odds at 18.5%, followed by American Doctor at 11.5%, reflecting limited release data and absent precursor signals such as festival premieres or guild buzz. This fragmentation stems from the category's historical volatility, where late-year releases and critical reception can rapidly shift momentum ahead of the Academy's secret ballot. Key upcoming catalysts include fall festival debuts and streaming metrics that could consolidate support among guild voters.
