This market will resolve to "Yes" if Israel announces it has withdrawn all ground forces from Lebanon by the specified date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". For this market to resolve to "Yes" it is sufficient that Israel announces its ground forces have withdrawn from all Lebanese territory, regardless of if some Lebanese territory remains under their control or ground incursions by Israeli forces continue. However, an announcement of a planned or future withdrawal will not suffice. The Shebaa Farms area is considered Israeli territory for the purposes of this market and will not be considered toward its resolution. The primary resolution source for this market will be information from the Israeli government, however an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting confirming that Israel has withdrawn may also be used.**A U.S.-brokered trilateral framework agreement signed in June 2026 conditions any broader Israeli redeployment from southern Lebanon on verifiable Hezbollah disarmament and dismantlement of its infrastructure rather than a fixed timetable.** The deal designates two limited “pilot zones” (one north and one south of the Litani River) for initial Israeli withdrawal, after which the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) would assume security responsibility, reconstruction could begin, and civilians could return—provided disarmament in those areas is confirmed by agreed mechanisms. Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Katz, have repeatedly stated that the IDF will not withdraw “a millimeter” beyond the pilot areas until Hezbollah is disarmed and no longer poses a threat, describing the continued presence in the security zone as a core achievement. Implementation of even the pilot zones has proceeded slowly, with reports of delays of several weeks for LAF preparation and coordination. Hezbollah has rejected the disarmament conditions. As of early September 2026, Israel opposes extending the UNIFIL mandate beyond its December 31 end date, insisting the LAF must handle border security. These factors—tied to verifiable outcomes rather than calendar deadlines—shape trader assessments of the timeline for any significant Israeli withdrawal.
