Crypto perps let you go long or short on digital assets like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana with leverage and no expiration date. Rather than buying and custodying the coin, you take a directional position against a reference price drawn from deep spot markets, and a funding rate periodically transfers payments between longs and shorts to keep the perp anchored to that price. Positions stay open as long as your margin holds - and you can go short just as easily as long.
