Recent National Weather Service forecasts and supporting model guidance position the highest temperature in Chicago on September 18 around 71–74°F, with trader consensus favoring 72–73°F. Persistent cloud cover, easterly winds off Lake Michigan, and limited daytime heating from a stable air mass are expected to hold highs below the late-September climatological average of roughly 75°F. Official outlooks cite mostly cloudy skies and a high near 71°F under east winds of 5–15 mph, while private guidance clusters in the low-to-mid 70s. This setup explains the narrow distribution around the 72–73°F bin and limited probability assigned to warmer or cooler outcomes, pending any last-minute forecast adjustments before resolution.
