Rockstar’s June 2026 announcement of a $79.99 standard edition for Grand Theft Auto VI, paired with a $99.99 Ultimate Edition, directly anchored trader sentiment and produced the overwhelming 97.8% implied probability against a $100+ base price. The official pricing ended months of speculation that the blockbuster would shatter the $70 ceiling entirely, aligning instead with recent industry moves like Nintendo’s $80 titles while offering premium cosmetics and missions only to higher-tier buyers. Pre-orders launched immediately at those figures, with no subsequent revisions reported despite the game’s November 19 release and massive marketing push. Realistic upset scenarios remain narrow—such as an unannounced last-minute hike or regional pricing anomalies—but the confirmed retail structure and pre-order data make any shift to $100+ for the core game highly improbable at this stage.
