This market will resolve to "Yes" if any single lot is sold at public auction for an all-in price (inclusive of buyer's premium) of at least $150 million at a major auction house between market creation and December 31, 2026. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". For the purposes of this market, a major auction house will be one of the following: Sotheby's. Christie's, or Phillips. If no such lot is reported by December 31, 2026, 11:59PM ET, this market will resolve to "No". This market will resolve according to the official post-sales results as published on each auction house's official website. If the resolution source becomes permanently unavailable or no qualifying report is released by December 31, 2026, 11:59PM ET, this market will resolve to "No".Recent high-end auction results have buoyed trader confidence in another nine-figure sale materializing before year-end. The May 2026 Christie’s evening sale of Jackson Pollock’s *Number 7A, 1948* for $181.2 million, alongside a Brancusi bronze exceeding $107 million, demonstrated sustained demand for canonical 20th-century works and helped push the implied probability of a $150 million-plus transaction to its current level. Earlier momentum from the November 2025 Sotheby’s Klimt record at $236.4 million further underscores that the top tier of the market can still produce outlier prices when exceptional provenance and quality align. Fall marquee auctions in New York and London, including potential single-owner dispersals, represent the clearest near-term catalysts. While the rebound in ultra-high-end results has been notable, traders also weigh thinner liquidity, selective buyer participation, and macroeconomic headwinds that could cap additional records. The 62% consensus therefore reflects a market that views another qualifying sale as more likely than not, yet still subject to the inherent unpredictability of trophy-lot outcomes.
