**Producer Amy Pascal’s August comment that an announcement by year-end is “a good bet” remains the main driver of trader sentiment on the timing market, reinforced by the methodical casting process now underway at Amazon MGM Studios.** Since acquiring creative control in 2025, the studio has installed Denis Villeneuve to direct, Steven Knight to write, and a team including Pascal, David Heyman, and casting director Nina Gold. Auditions and shortlist narrowing occurred through summer 2026, with frontrunners such as Jack Lowden, Callum Turner, and Jacob Elordi repeatedly named in credible reporting. Gary Oldman’s September remarks that a choice has been made but not revealed added momentum toward a late-2026 reveal. With production eyed for 2027 and a 2028 release target, the market prices reflect high odds of an official announcement before December 31 while leaving room for the deliberate pace typical of franchise reboots. No confirmation has surfaced as of mid-October.
