The American League playoff picture features tight division and wild-card races that will determine which clubs advance to the ALDS, with the Rays, White Sox, and Astros currently projected as division leaders holding byes while the Yankees, Red Sox, and Guardians occupy wild-card spots. Recent developments include the Yankees' activation of Aaron Judge from the injured list and a five-game winning streak for the Red Sox, bolstering their strong wild-card positioning. The White Sox lead the Guardians by two games in the AL Central, the Astros hold a slim edge in the AL West, and the Rays maintain a four-game advantage in the AL East. Remaining schedule strength, head-to-head tiebreakers, and late-season form among contenders like the Blue Jays, Rangers, and Orioles will shape final seeding and wild-card series matchups.
