In the event of a tie, this market will resolve in favor of the player with more walks during the 2026 MLB regular season. If a tie still persists, this market will resolve in favor of the player with a higher on base percentage. If a tie still persists, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the 2026 MLB season concludes early, is shortened, or is truncated for any reason, the outcome shall be determined using available MLB statistics for completed games. If the 2026 MLB regular season is cancelled, postponed after October 15, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or it is unclear which player had more walks within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “Other”. The resolution source for this market will be official information from MLB; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Yordan Alvarez's dominant position in the MLB intentional walks market stems from his league-leading 32 IBB through late August 2026, more than double the next closest players, fueled by his .310/.427/.589 slash line, 38 home runs, and elite OPS that forces opposing managers to issue free passes in high-leverage spots with runners aboard. The Astros slugger has already shattered the franchise single-season record previously held by Jeff Bagwell, reflecting consistent late-inning and bases-loaded avoidance by defenses amid his MVP-caliber campaign. Trader consensus assigns him overwhelming implied probability given the sizable gap and limited remaining schedule. Scenarios that could shift outcomes include a season-ending injury to Alvarez, a prolonged hot streak by a contender like Shohei Ohtani or Junior Caminero closing the deficit, or altered pitching strategies in the final weeks.
