Recent National Weather Service and private model guidance for Atlanta shows overnight lows near 66–69°F on September 23, driven by an eastward-moving frontal boundary that increases cloud cover and easterly flow, limiting radiational cooling. Historical climatology places the average minimum around 63°F, so the current pattern favors values above that threshold unless skies clear earlier or drier air arrives sooner than projected. Model spread in boundary-layer moisture and wind speed creates the tight 50 % market split between 63 °F or below and 82 °F or higher, with the latter reflecting scenarios of delayed frontal passage or stronger southerly return flow. Updated NWS and GFS runs expected within the next 24 hours will narrow the range by refining overnight minimum forecasts and any associated thunderstorm timing.
