The 2026-27 Ligue 2 campaign features an unusually deep group of contenders for the second automatic promotion spot, with recently relegated sides Metz and Nantes adding Ligue 1 experience and resources alongside established clubs such as Reims, Montpellier, Annecy, and Guingamp. Early-season results through mid-September have reinforced parity, as Saint-Étienne has pulled clear at the top while the chasing pack trades points in a tightly contested table marked by draws and narrow margins. Squad stability, recent form, and head-to-head trends among these teams continue to shape trader consensus around a wide-open race for runner-up rather than any single standout.

If at any point it becomes impossible for a listed participant to finish as runner-up of Ligue 2 for the 2026-27 season per the rules of Ligue 2 (e.g., the participant is eliminated), the corresponding market will resolve to "No".
If multiple teams are declared as second-place finishers, this market will resolve in favor of the team whose listed name comes first alphabetically.
If this event is cancelled, postponed after July 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or a runner-up has not been declared within this timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other".
The resolution source will be official information from the Ligue 2; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
