**Tarrant County’s competitive suburban electorate and Talarico’s targeted outreach explain the strong trader consensus favoring the Democrat to carry it.** Recent polling shows the statewide Texas Senate race between James Talarico and Ken Paxton essentially tied or within the margin of error, with Talarico posting narrow leads in multiple September surveys of likely voters. Tarrant County, part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metro, has trended more competitive in recent cycles, delivering narrow wins for Democrats in presidential and Senate races. Talarico has focused resources and messaging there, holding an August rally in Arlington to unveil an affordability agenda (medical debt relief, housing aid, child tax credit expansion) and securing endorsements from former Republican Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley and Arlington Mayor Jim Ross. He has also highlighted local concerns over proposed reductions in Election Day polling sites. Paxton has campaigned in Fort Worth on crime and economic issues but trails in regional breakdowns, with the candidates tied in one recent DFW-area survey. These local dynamics, combined with Talarico’s fundraising edge and crossover appeal, underpin the market’s assessment of his position in the county despite the broader contest remaining close.
