Recent National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance indicates a lowest temperature in San Francisco on September 22 most likely in the upper 50s, driven by a persistent marine layer and light onshore flow that moderates overnight cooling under partly to mostly clear skies. This setup aligns with the market's heaviest weighting on the 58-59°F bin, followed by 56-57°F, as typical September climatology shows an average low near 56°F with limited day-to-day variability absent strong synoptic changes. No significant cold-air advection or fog breakthroughs are projected in the latest runs, keeping downside risk to the mid-50s modest while capping upside potential below 60°F. Updated model guidance and official NWS briefings through September 21 will provide the final inputs ahead of resolution.
